Music Ministries at Haygood Memorial UMC
Whether you are a child or an adult, singer or instrumentalist, there is a place for you in the Music Ministry at Haygood.
Chancel Choir sings choral music over a broad range of musical styles to enhance and lead worship. The music ministry fosters individual growth through the various opportunities of weekly anthems and other choral music, seasonal productions at Christmas and Easter, and opportunities to share in solos and ensembles. All interested adults and teenagers are invited to join the chancel choir. Rehearsals are held each Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m. A nursery is provided.
Children's Choirs include three age groups: a preschool & kindergarten "Cherub Choir", an early elementary school group for grades 1-3 "The Joy Jammers", and a 4-6 grade group "The Lord's Light Choir." The choirs meet on Wednesdays from 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. All three choirs provide nurturing growth in an educational and fun environment of positive reinforcement. The children acquire both foundational music skills and leadership experience by leading in morning worship on a seasonal basis. Rehearsals are open to all children and parents.
